What are the types of belt conveyor?

A belt conveyor is a continuous conveying device that uses a conveyor belt as a traction and load-bearing member and conveys materials through the movement of a conveyor belt carrying materials. Its structural principle is shown in the figure, the conveyor belt forms a stepless endless belt around the drive pulley and the tail pulley. The upper and lower conveyor belts are supported by the supporting idlers to limit the deflection of the conveyor belt. The tensioning device provides the conveyor belt for normal operation tension. During operation, the driving device drives the transmission pulley, and the friction belt between the transmission pulley and the conveyor belt drives the conveyor belt to run, and the materials are mounted on the conveyor belt and move together with the belt. The belt conveyor is generally unloaded at the end, and when a special unloading device is used, it can also be unloaded in the middle.

1. Classification by carrying capacity

Light belt conveyor: It is specially used for light load conveyor.

Universal belt conveyor: This is the most widely used belt conveyor. Other types of belt conveyors are variants of this belt conveyor.

Steel core belt conveyor: conveyor for heavy loads.

2. Classification by whether mobile design

Fixed belt conveyor: The conveyor is installed at a fixed location and does not need to be moved.

Mobile belt conveyor: with moving mechanism. Such as wheels and crawlers.

Displacement belt conveyor: the position of the equipment is changed by the mobile equipment.

Retractable(telstacking) belt conveyor: The length of the conveyor can be changed by the belt storage device.

3. Classification according to the structure of the conveyor belt

Ordinary conveyor belt conveyor: The conveyor belt is flat and the belt core is canvas or nylon canvas or steel rope core.

Steel rope traction belt conveyor: Use wire rope as the traction mechanism, and use the conveyor belt with ears as the bearing mechanism.

Pressure belt conveyor: two closed-loop belts, one of which is a load-bearing belt and the other is a pressure belt.

Steel belt conveyor: The conveyor belt is a steel belt.

Mesh belt conveyor: The conveyor belt is a mesh belt.

Tubular belt conveyor: the conveyor belt is wrapped into a tube or the material is transported in a closed manner with a special structure conveyor belt.

Corrugated sidewall belt conveyor: There are ribs on the side of the conveyor belt to increase the cross-section of the material. When the inclination angle is large, the baffle is generally set in the lateral direction.

Patterned belt conveyor: Use patterned belts to increase the friction between the material and the conveyor belt and increase the conveying inclination.

4. Classification by bearing/loading method

Roller-type belt conveyor: Support the conveyor belt with rollers/idlers.

Air cushion belt conveyor: Support the conveyor belt with an air film. In addition, there are magnetic conveyor belts and liquid cushion belt conveyors. Their common characteristics are continuous support for the conveyor belt.

Deep groove belt conveyor: Due to the increased groove depth, in addition to the support by the idler, it also plays a role in clamping the material and can increase the conveying inclination.

5. Classification according to conveyor line layout

Straight belt conveyor: The longitudinal direction of the conveyor is straight, but there can be convex and concave curve on the vertical plane.

Plane curved belt conveyor: it can realize bending operation on a plane.

Space bending belt conveyor: it can realize bending operation in space.

6. Classification by driving method

Single pulley drive belt conveyor.

Multi-pulley drive belt conveyor.

Linear friction belt conveyor: one or more conveyor belts are used as driving bodies.

Magnetic belt conveyor: Drive the conveyor belt through the action of magnetic field.
